Held at HIS HQ, Montagu House  in London and starting at 14:00, this event will encompass training sessions on practical skills/knowledge relating to the issues trainees are likely to face around the topic of the built environment:

14:00 – 14:30 Refreshments and registration
14:30 – 14:35 Welcome, safety briefing and introductions
14:35 – 15:30 Session 1: Problem-solving in the hospital environment – this session will cover infection scenarios and expert decision making in their management. The session will be led by Dr Tim Boswell who runs the popular HIS Outbreaks training course.
15:30 – 15:50 Refreshment break
15:50 – 17:15 Session 2: Learn about healthcare environment sampling, strategies, techniques and interpretation. The interaction session will be led by Dr Shanom Ali who runs the UCLH Environmental Research Laboratory and is Associate Professor of Microbiology at UCL
17:15 – 18:30 ‘Meet the experts’ social event with drinks, pizza and sushi
