About IPC Training Days

The revised IPC Training Days programme provides education for trainees and other healthcare professionals working in the field of medical microbiology, medical virology, infectious diseases, and other areas of infection control.

The structured rolling programme comprises a series of nine independent, one-day training sessions.

This session on 'Reducing harm to patients and improving quality of care' covers

  • The role of the theatre in infection
  • Behaviours and operating theatre rituals
  • investigating theatre related outbreaks
  • Antimicrobial stewardship

Details of the full programme will be available shortly.

HIS members who attend 7 (distinct) of the 9 IPC Training Days in the rolling programme and complete the HIS/UKHSA Foundation Course in Infection Prevention and Control are eligible to apply for the Foundation Certificate in IPC.
