This online course is beneficial to all those involved in water safety including IPC teams, Estates, Clinical microbiology and infection specialists, Engineering, Construction, Design, Project, Procurement and Executive teams.

By the end of this course you will:

  • Understand the risks from wastewater systems
  • Know how to conduct a clinical risk assessment on the periphery of the water system
  • Learn how to deal with key water related outbreaks from case studies
  • Understand about the microbiology of drinking water and testing
  • Understand and be able to manage commissioning of water systems during new builds and refurbishments
  • Understand about managing damage from water leaks and flooding events in healthcare
  • Be able to understand roles and responsibilities and governance in water safety groups
  • Learn the anatomy, and key areas of relevance within the water distribution system to develop an understanding on how to approach problems and test results

The course comprises modules in an on demand, self-led learning format (estimated 9 hrs), supplemented by a programme of live online sessions consisting of online workshops and clinics (Q&A/discussion sessions) with the presenting experts. This will take place over four afternoons in a designated week for each cohort.

Non-members: £650
