Topics in IPC

HIS is pleased to offer these individual courses on the new HIS eLearning platform. Each course covers a distinct area of infection prevention and control (IPC) and allows learners to gain a firm grounding in the principles and application to IPC practice.

These eLearning courses have been specifically designed to support the development of all practitioners in IPC, including medical trainees, newly appointed consultants, nurses, pharmacists, biomedical and clinical scientists. If you are uncertain whether a Topic in IPC will be suitable for your learning needs, please contact admin@his.org.uk

Each course has between 4 and 8 self-led learning sessions that will take an estimated 5 and 7.5 hrs to complete. The sessions may be accessed for 3 months, at any time, and as often as necessary, according to the needs of the learner. The sessions include video presentations, suggested pre-learning reading and resources to develop post-learning knowledge. In addition, there are links to additional information, downloadable reading lists and suggestions for applied learning tasks.

Each Topic course includes a summative multiple-choice assessment covering the content of all the learning sessions.

Our current Topics in IPC are:

Cost and access:

  • HIS members: £115
  • Non-members: £150

From the date of purchase, delegates will have access to the course content on the eLearning platform for a period of 3 months.

Full payment is required by credit or debit card at the point of booking and no refunds are issued as access to the topic material is provided immediately. For full information, view our payment terms.

If a selection of these topics is appropriate for you (4 or more) we would suggest you consider the HIS / UKHSA Foundation course in IPC.
