Dr Boswell is a Consultant Medical Microbiologist and Deputy Director of Infection Prevention and Control at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. He has a particular interest in the detection, control and prevention of outbreaks of healthcare-associated infections, and the role of the environment in HCAI. He has been an active member of HIS for many years and was previously the Scientific Meetings Secretary and Chairman of the Society.
