HIS IPC leaders' course - Investing in the future: quality improvement and education

NHSE IPC Education Framework level: This course aligns to Advanced level on the framework

This session develops the IPC Leader’s understanding of the role of QI in today’s healthcare settings and how it can be used to develop IPC services. IPC professionals are pivotal in undertaking a range of activities beyond IPC and strategies to identify and support their needs are addressed.

After attending, delegates will be able to:

  • Explain why QI is important and where it fits in the big healthcare picture.
  • Describe the leadership qualities that promote a quality improvement culture.
  • Explain how to support the IPC workforce to educate and change others.
  • Understand the factors that influence why and how QI actually gets implemented.
  • Discuss the role of simulation in IPC and how is can change behaviours and support learning.

CPD:

 This course has been approved for 5 CPD points from the Royal College of Pathologists.

Cancellation or non-attendance

Cancellations will be accepted in writing by email to admin@his.org.uk up to 14 days prior to the event and the registration fee will be refunded in full. Refunds will not be provided for cancellations less than 14 days prior to the event or for delegates who do not attend on the day.

Certificate of attendance

A Certificate of Attendance will be provided after the event for delegates who attend the full day.
