Katy Sinka, PHD

Katy Sinka is an epidemiologist and the public health lead for CJD at the National Infection Service, Public Health England. She provides advice and guidance on public health action following CJD surgical incidents and on aspects of CJD infection prevention and control in healthcare and community settings.  In collaboration with other national centres, PHE undertakes long-term public health follow-up of individuals at increased risk of CJD through their healthcare and has coordinated the abnormal prion prevalence studies using archived appendix tissues from the British general population.
