HIS runs a DIPC Network and Development Programme, directed at current or aspiring Directors of Infection Prevention and Control (DIPCs) and Deputy DIPCs, or those in a similar role. The programme comprises a series of 6 one-day training sessions (2 per year in June and December), over a three-year period and each programme includes speaker presentations, discussion sessions and networking opportunities.
The HIS Foundation Certificate in DIPC Development recognises HIS members (Full or Associate) who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to their professional development in infection prevention and control through attendance and participation in the programme.

Certificates of Attendance for 6 distinct DIPC Development Days
A 500-word reflection per event describing the application of each DIPC Development Day to their own practice
Applications may be submitted at any time during the year.
To be eligible to apply for the Foundation Certificate in DIPC Development, HIS Members (Full or Associate) must attend and fully participate in 6 distinct DIPC Development Days, within a 5 year period.
Applicants will be notified if they have been successful in achieving the Foundation Certificate in DIPC Development within 4 weeks of submitting their application.
Formal presentations of the certificates will be made annually at the AGM in November or December.
