Olly Allen is a Consultant Microbiologist and Infection Control Doctor for the Royal Papworth Hospital for more than 8 years. The hospital specialises in cardiothoracic surgery and transplantation, providing ECMO services and treating respiratory conditions like cystic fibrosis and bronchiectasis. Hospital relocation to a new building 4 years ago allowed him to gain practical experience in building and managing new hospitals from the infection control point of view but at the same time it was associated with some unique challenges.
