Practical aspects of sampling water in the hospital settling

Presentation will draw experience from a local incidence some years ago which included poor sampling protocol, wrong laboratory reports, delayed communication of results to the Infection Prevention and Control Team/Estate team, and untoward consequences of these error to the Trust.

Other aspect of water testing will include:

-The reproducibility of water sampling process, to ensure quality assurance if intention is to reduce Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI)
-Assembling of dedicated local staff team to improve monitoring, compliance and actions required to reduce/prevent risk of water associated HCAI
-Team work between IPC/Estate/Microbiology lab/IT to ensure resilience in efficient and cost effective water sampling in hospitals.
