Travel grants and bursaries

We are pleased to be able to offer bursaries to support delegates who may have difficulty obtaining funding to attend FIS/HIS 2020.

If you are a HIS member, you are eligible to apply for a HIS travel grant of up to £750 to support attendance at FIS/HIS 2020 and you should NOT apply for for a bursary through this form. Eligibility commences immediately upon joining HIS and non-members can join the Society online.

Bursaries are offered to non-HIS members and those who have NOT secured alternative funding through their own society only.  All delegates are welcome to apply for a bursary however preference will be given to trainees and academic students.  Bursaries are allocated according to pre-determined criteria which includes:-

  • seniority or stage in training programme
  • availability of alternative funding
  • potential benefit to the applicant from attending the conference

The bursary includes:-

  • full conference registration
  • £200 towards travel and accommodation

A total of 30 bursaries will be granted.

The deadline for applications is Monday 3 August 2020.  All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by Tuesday 18 August 2020.
