Each November, the Journal of Hospital Infection (JHI) publishes a Special Section on antimicrobial stewardship (AMS), to coincide with WHO World Antimicrobial Awareness Week.

We welcome any submissions on AMS. However, this year we are particularly keen to receive  papers dealing with positive or negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on AMS, and to hear how colleagues are addressing the NHS 2022/23 Service Development & Improvement Plan to improve blood culture pathways.

The JHI offers a range of article types to allow authors to publish research studies, both large and small. We highlight the Practice Points article type as being ideal for brief reports of work of blood culture pathways. Available article types are described in more detail in our Guide for Authors.

The Journal of Hospital Infection (JHI) is the editorially independent scientific publication of the Healthcare Infection Society (HIS). The aim of the Journal is to publish high quality research and information relating to infection prevention and control that is relevant to an international audience.

The JHI’s instructions for authors are available on the journal website (Guide for Authors), and authors are kindly asked to follow them. When you come to submit your article, please note that you are responding to this call for papers in you cover letter to ensure your work is held for the November edition.

Deadline for submissions: 15 July 2022
