NHSE IPC Education Framework level: This course aligns to Enhanced level on the framework
This 3-day live online course is beneficial to all those involved in water safety including IPC teams, Estates, Clinical microbiology and infection specialists, Engineering, Construction, Design, Project, Procurement and Executive teams.
The aim of the course is to share knowledge, experience and practical ideas to improve patient safety by reducing risk of health care associated infections from healthcare water and wastewater systems.
It is designed to improve understanding of risks from healthcare:
Day 1 Wastewater | risks from wastewater systems
Day 2 Periphery of the water systems | understanding the microbiology of drinking water and testing
Days 2&3 Supply and distribution | testing, governance and role of water safety groups
This 3-day live online (Zoom) course is based on 7hrs of learning per day.
This learning experience includes:
- Incident based scenarios in healthcare discussed by experts.
- Learning from IPC issues in construction, refurbishment, resilience and outbreaks
- Advanced understanding and management of water associated infection risk
- Interactive and practical multidisciplinary sessions
- Delegate led sessions to share real issues/problems for discuss.
