Simon Witts

Simon Witts is a Chartered Engineer over 35 years’ international experience in the design of healthcare facilities. Simon started his design life at DSSR in Manchester and that set his career in healthcare design. Emigrating to Australia 14 years ago after being approached to design the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre.

Simon is experienced in building energy and system analysis, as well as site wide low carbon design strategies. He is also highly experienced in the incorporation of passive design and active renewable technologies, at master planning and localised levels, in building regulations, low energy design and delivering sustainability workshops and presentations to a wide range of clients and professional bodies. In 2019 Simon co-authored and edited the Victorian Healthcare Engineering Guidelines. Since the onset of the pandemic Simon has been involved with Health sector, Government sector and Private sector clients using his decades of experience in healthcare building HVAC design in the detailed analysis of air movement in buildings using computational fluid dynamic analysis with a particular focus on aerosol movement and control to limit the aerosol movement across building areas.
