CPE positive forever? Or can we de-isolate

The increasing prevalence of carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae presents a threat to the safe delivery of modern healthcare. Appropriate screening strategies are a key component in limiting the spread of these organisms. Whilst risk factors for carriage a well described, and used to inform admission screening policies there is little guidance on how to deal with previously colonised patients. This session will describe the practical application of a re-screening strategy, the results obtained and how it could inform practice.
