Helen Compton

Stakeholder Engagement Manager, Innovations Directorate, NIHR Helen is committed to the support of innovation for the life sciences and healthcare sector with more than 20 years’ experience of applied research at the science / policy interface and spanning research concept generation, research programme development, exploring exploitation routes, and supporting commercialisation by bringing relevant expertise together. She has extensive experience working with a broad range of stakeholders and independent advisory groups and across government departments to support Government challenges. She led the evidence development to support a number of national strategies as well as presented evidence-based findings at all organisational levels and internationally through the OECD.
Helen joined LGC Limited, an international life sciences measurement and testing company, in November 2016 to lead on stakeholder engagement activity with the charity and support med tech communities, to increase engagement with the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) programmes and infrastructure and to support the pull through of innovation towards the NHS.

Helen is an innovation advisory board member to CW Innovation, the partnership between Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust and the Trust’s charity, CW+. CW Innovation aims to develop the Trust into a leading real world environment test bed for digital and med tech innovation through partnership with others.
