As a Society, we are aware that new information and guidance on COVID-19 is being published on a daily basis. It feels a daunting task to assimilate everything and translate it into practice. For consistent practice, HIS, BIA, BSAC, IPS and RCPath agree that it is imperative that PHE IPC guidance is followed. To aid this, we have produced simple graphics to highlight the role that HCWs have in preventing COVID-19 transmission in healthcare settings. As IPC experts, we ask that you actively cascade these messages to your non-infection colleagues (for example, by adding the graphic to your emails); we hope it will emphasise the importance of simple infection control precautions and act as a reminder when staff are under pressure.
